Margaret Stowell

During the 1980s Margaret Stowell worked at Wolverton as Camp Director, Cook (chef, really), personal assistant to Rich, and many other duties as assigned. She epitomized everything we, as boys, wanted to be as members of Camp staff. Margaret loved Camp Wolverton - the place, the people, and its history. She was a great natural historian who knew the plants and animals. Margaret was a great lover of the High Sierra and could hike the socks off just about anyone. She was a great friend and companion. Margaret Stowell taught me that loving the Sierra Nevada is not enough without someone in your life who loves you just as much.

Margaret Stowell, born 12 May 1955, died 24 March 1992: Too soon gone.
