ALDEN BARBER (attended fall '35-spring '37) died Jan. 17 at the age of 81. Barber served as a reporter and editor for the Chico Record before joining the Boy Scouts as an assistant executive in West Los Angeles. In 1967, he was appointed chief executive of the national Boy Scouts of America, a position he held until his retirement in 1976. He is survived by his wife, Mitzi; daughters, Sharon, Susan, and Maryann; son, Mark; one granddaughter; and two grandsons.
